Redwood City, CA School Violence: Lessons Learned A Dispatchers Tactical Response to School Violence Events Class Description: This class offers the opportunity to take an in-depth look at School Violence. What can you do to prepare for such an event? What should you do if and when an event occurs? In the last few years, there have been numerous tragedies in America's schools. You must be prepared for school violence events in your community. Topics include:
Workplace or school incidents accounted for thousands of injuries and hundreds of deaths in the workplace and schools. There were 1,071 workplace homicides in 1994 alone. This class will assist you to prepare dispatch professionals to recognize and respond appropriately to a potential workplace or school event. Actual school and workplace events will be used to illustrate the importance of this training. This knowledge could save lives in your agency and your community! We've all witnessed Paducah, Jonesboro, Springfield and Littleton. We hope there won't be a “next time” but know you need to be prepared! Don't wait for another workplace or school violence event to occur! Train to prevent and prepare for school violence events! Target Audience: Any Call Taker, Dispatcher, Training Dispatcher, Lead, Supervising Dispatcher or Tactical Patrol Team member will gain great information and tools! Class length: 7-8 Hours.
