| Redwood City, CA 2-Day Police Specific CISM Seminar Class Description: Critical Incident Stress Management is the focus of this two day seminar/retreat. This class will develop skills in personnel interested in implementing or being part of a peer counseling or critical incident stress team.
CISM programs are proven to assist in defusing every variety of stress. By managing employee stress, agencies retain quality employees and employees have a improved quality of life. This combination saves stress, lives, and retirements. This course will give police personnel the information and powerful tools needed to justify, establish and maintain a Critical Incident Stress Management Program for your agency. Target Audience: Any public safety employee at any level with an interest in the CISM/CISD model or stress management. Class size is 18 minimum, 26 maximum. Due to the seminar/group structure, we keep the student-instructor ratio low for best results. Class length: 16 Hours. Cost: $171-$195 depending on location. PSTC works vigorously to use locations that are retreat-like in nature. Training should be away from the main public safety buildings so the stressors inherent in the facilities can be left behind. We know that creature comforts and student surroundings should be relaxing and fun. The class is demanding and facilities should be enjoyable during non-class hours. We will work with an agency to find an appropriate training sight. Certification: California POST Plan III. Call for details regarding other certifications. Evaluations: Here are a few comments from a group of dispatchers that attended this course in May of 1996...
