Wanted to drop you a quick note and say "thank you" for taking the time in your busy schedule to make a stop in Oregon. The information you presented was very helpful - the presentation was excellent - it brought to light some of the things that even we, as dispatchers, never knew happened or went on behind the scenes - therefore, it provided - as you stated - one more piece of the puzzle for us! And, as you pointed out in your school violence class, unfortunately - it does happen here - Thurston High School was our example. I really enjoyed meeting you and the training class. Thank you for reminding me of why I do what I do. It's easy to forget sometimes due to long hours, irate callers and road units that think I am either a walking, talking encyclopedia or an absolute dunce (depending on the day..lol). You helped remind me that sometimes you just need to go back to basics and remember why you do this job. For me the reason is self satisfaction. I love to help people and there is no better feeling in the world than knowing that on any given day at any give time I made a difference in someone's life.
